The Open Arms Curriculum: Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities of Participating Centers

During the initial stages, a few selected centers will be invited to participate in the development of the Open Arms Curriculum. These centers will be required to be members of the Open Arms Institute. They will be asked to agree to the following terms:

  1. Adopt the Open Arms Curriculum, as it exists, as the basic curriculum for the center, and implement its use in the most practical fashion under the guidance of the Open Arms Institute;
  2. Appoint and maintain a member of their staff as the Curriculum Specialist;
  3. Require the Curriculum Specialist to participate in all the training and development sessions as may be prescribed by the Open Arms Institute, at the expense of the center;
  4. Delegate to the Curriculum Specialist the authority necessary to oversee and direct the ongoing improvement of the curriculum in the center, in cooperation with the Open Arms Institute;
  5. Make available for use, at the request of the Open Arms Institute, the best of the learning materials developed within the center for inclusion in the Open Arms Curriculum, without restriction as to copyright or other claim;
  6. Pay a monthly fee for access to the Open Arms Curriculum web site, and all the information and materials it contains.

The Open Arms Institute retains the right to revise the list of participating centers, according to the ongoing needs for development of the Open Arms Curriculum.

Responsibilities of the Open Arms Institute

The Open Arms Institute hereby commits to the following obligations:

  1. We will hold the ultimate responsibility for the success and ongoing use of the Open Arms Curriculum. We pledge to continue its development at a pace that will begin to provide participants with useful, practical, curriculum tools at the earliest possible date.
  2. We will protect the copyright and trademark rights of all elements of the Open Arms Curriculum for the exclusive use of recognized participating centers, and from illicit use by others.
  3. We will establish and maintain the Open Arms Curriculum web site for the exclusive use of recognized participating centers.
  4. We will coordinate the planning and the ongoing development work for the Open Arms Curriculum with Curriculum Specialists of recognized participating centers and with all other related entities.
  5. We will promote the use of the Open Arms Curriculum among all affiliated centers, and partner with them in achieving and maintaining the highest quality Christian early childhood programs.
